Three key messages in this newsletter from CCNZ Administration
1 Gratitude and Appreciation
So much happens in the total school life of student learning at CCNZ. It is the discovery of untapped talent. It is the fine tuning and focussing of known academic, musical, sporting and all-round capabilities. Student successes would not have come about had nurturers, encouragers, coaches not been there for that particular young woman or that specific young man. It is your living example of the Gospel that makes the difference. To parents, faculty, staff and friends of CCNZ we say, “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
2 A Call to Student focus – Study, study, study.
• Parents and students responded really well to the call for students to “study smarter not harder” this time last year. The result was a very strong NCEA achievement by your student.
• We need to repeat and increase our joint emphasis and effort of focus and study again this year. There has to be a high expectation for examination achievement. Parents must expect it from their student. Teachers expect it from their class. Students must expect high achievement from themselves.
• An attitude of “near enough” is simply “not good enough.”
• Congratulations to those students who have made the positive transition even to the point of achieving Academic and Effort Honour Rolls for this Term Three. Wahoo! Well done!!
• School examinations commence on the fourth day of Term Four, Friday 17 October.
• Graduation is on Friday 14 November.
• NCEA external examinations commence three weeks, 12 class lessons maximum, after labour weekend.
Parents your help please - expect your student to do two hours minimum of study per night. Prove the proverb, “practice does make perfect.”
3 2009 School year will be “Simply the Best”
• Business Better than Before!
• Enrolments due 1 November 2008
• Only Day Students. No dormitories will be open. We trust those out of Hamilton will find local boarding. Don’t miss enrolling in the coming history making year.
• Full Year 12 and Year 13 leadership/workshop training days are mooted to commence in Week One, Term One (to be confirmed – more information will follow.
• There will be Songfest, a Year 12 Recognition Graduation and a Grand Finale Tour Group.
• The School will be looking to pour all its available resources to the advantage and betterment of student achievement and success.
.
Thank you for the trust and support you give to the students at The Church College of New Zealand.

Congratulations to the (21 singers, 10 dancers, 2 actors, 7 rhythm, 3 brass, 9 stage crew) performing arts students for a fittingly fantastic, final performing arts tour. Marvellous shows have been enjoyed so far in Hamilton and Auckland. The tour group next travels to Hastings, Palmerston North and Wellington.
