Thank you to Bobby Hammon for this news letter posted to his era group 73-77. We have used his letter as news for the rest of the Alumni.

We wish to also express our sympathy on behalf of the Alumni board to the family. Above is a picture taken of Bro. Doody (pictured center)at this years CCNZ songfest with Bro Keung (CCNZ principal on the left) and Bro. Panui as MC (pictured right).

Bobby writes,
It is with great sorrow that I write to let you all know that Kelvin Doody passed away suddenly as a result of an aneurysm this morning, joining his wife Sulia who some of you may know died over the reunion weekend following a brief illness.

Following his years as a student at CCNZ, Kelvin served in the Sydney Australia Mission, then trained as a teacher. He spent a few years teaching in Te Kuiti, and for nineteen years up until 2005 taught Math at Church College.

He was appointed Deputy Principle at CCNZ in 2006, and began work as the overseer of church Schools in the Pacific Islands at the beginning of this year.

Kelvin was known for his early morning tutorials, it was usual to see his classroom lights on at 5.30 am and he recieved a national award for teaching. He also devoted much of his time to the swim and Water Polo teams.

Tangi arrangements have not been finalised at this stage, once they have been I will post them.

Our aroha and awhinatia go out to their kelvin and Sulias' six children.
