Many years ago while coaching the A1 Boys basketball team I ran into an old friend who had two of his children playing for other teams at a tournament we entered.
While in conversation I couldn't help but ask him, "Why aren't your children at Church College?". His answer took me back a bit. He said in a serious tone, "What can Church College do for my children? They are doing well in school, they go to seminary and are active in church".
Under normal circumstances I would have bit my tongue and nodded in approval but I didn't. I spoke out for our school. I told him that was the very reason his children should be at school-because they were good students and Church College needed good students.
I went on to congratulate him for being a good dad and doing a good job with his children and that he should think about what I had said.
I didn't think much more about the conversation until the next year when I saw his children on campus in their smart new Church College uniforms :)
Too many of our people have thought like him. Isn't it sad that many won't have the opportunity to send their children to Church College to make it a better place.
Spread the good word about Church College.
I love You All.
